Google moves away from Google My Business (GMB) and makes it easier for business owners.

If you are looking to grow your Business in Brisbane North and specifically in the Moreton Bay. You need to be aware of the Google My Business (GMB) changes that are happening in Google Business, Google Maps and Google Search!

Manage your Google Business Profile Directly From Google Search And Google Maps.

Google My Business (now known as Google Business Profile) is a free tool that allows businesses to manage their online presence in Google Maps and Search. With a Google Profile, companies can control what information is displayed when customers search for them online. They can also use the platform to post updates, offer promotions, and interact with customers.

While most features are being migrated to Google Maps and Search, businesses will still be able to access and manage their profile through the GMB app. The app will continue to offer features such as Insights and Posts. As Google continues to invest in its Map and Search products, it’s clear that the company sees value in maintaining a separate entity for business profiles.

While the name change may be confusing for some users, the platform is still a valuable tool for businesses that want to manage their online presence.

Manage your business profile directly in Google Search and Maps.

Google has announced new features that will make it easier for businesses to manage their profiles on Google Search and Maps. The new features include editing business hours, adding photos and videos, and responding to customer reviews. Google is also rolling out a new “dashboard” interface that will give business owners an overview of their profile data.

These changes aim to make it easier for businesses to keep their information up-to-date and accurate and encourage more interaction with customers. In addition, the changes should make it simpler for customers to find the information they need about businesses in their area.

Overall, these new features should make it easier for businesses and customers to get the most out of Google Search and Maps.

Google is renaming GMB to Google Business Profile. The rename is part of a more significant effort by Google to streamline its various business-facing products and services, including the recent consolidation of its Google Ads and Google Analytics platforms. It moves efforts to bring more business profile management directly into Google Search, Google Maps and those respective apps.

Businesses will be able to manage their Business Profiles now from within Google Search and Google Maps, making it easier to keep information up-to-date.

The New name for GMB.

The search giant says the new name will help keep things simple for users. The change comes as part of a more significant effort to unify all of Google’s business offerings under one umbrella. In addition to the new name, Google is also retiring the GMB app features and will move to the web interface, accessible from any device.

The transition will be complete sometime in 2022. For now, users can continue to use the app as usual. However, it’s important to note that all future updates will be for the web interface only. After the transition is complete, the app will be retired and no longer functional.

Yes - Yet Another new name!

Yes, the local business management product has been through many names. Before its most recent name, Google Business Profile, it was called GMB. Before that, it was named Google Places, and before that, it was Google+ Local. The name change can be confusing for business owners trying to keep up with the latest platform changes.

However, the product has remained essentially the same despite the name changes. It is still a powerful tool for managing your local business information and staying connected with customers. So, even though the name has changed again, business owners can rest assured that they are still using the same trusted product.

The end of Google My Business as we know it!

GMB name is going away. What does it mean? Google is encouraging businesses to manage their listings directly on Google Search or Google Maps, either via the web interface or mobile apps. This has been possible for a long time now. Still, Google prefers businesses with single listings to manage their businesses in Search or Maps instead of the old GMB console.

Using Search or Maps is that businesses can manage their listing information more quickly. Updates will be immediate in Search results or on Maps. In addition, managing listings via Search or Maps will allow businesses to take advantage of new features and capabilities as they become available.

For example, last year, Google introduced messaging features for business listings on Maps. More recently, it has begun rolling out the ability for businesses to post updates and special offers directly on their listing page. As Google continues to evolve its products and offerings, managing listings on Search or Maps will ensure that businesses can take advantage of the latest features and get the most out of their listing.

There will be changes to how the GMB Platform works.

Google has announced that it will be making some changes to how its GMB platform works. The existing GMB web experience will transition to primarily support larger businesses with multiple locations and be renamed “Business Profile Manager.”

Google will redirect and rebrand the GMB web interface. I personally still use to be directed to right now. For smaller businesses with only one location, the company recommends using the Google Maps app instead. This change will likely roll out gradually over the coming weeks and months.

What if I manage Multiple locations in my GMB?

This change will not affect how you use the interface for businesses that manage multiple locations. You will still be able to access all of your business profiles in one place and make changes as needed.

However, there may be some changes to the Business Profile Manager in the coming months. Google has not given any specific details about these changes. It’s even possible that there could be new features or a new interface. As always, Google will continue to evolve their products and services to meet the needs of businesses and consumers.

How do you manage Business in Google Profile Manager?

GMB is an interface that allows business owners and managers to input information about their businesses that appears on Google Search and Maps. Local SEOs use this interface to manage listings for their clients. The interface’s name is changing to Business Profile Manager, but the functionality will remain the same. There may be some changes to the interface in the coming months.

However, it will still be possible to manage multiple business listings through the Business Profile Manager. This change will not affects businesses or SEOs that use the interface to manage their listings.

Direct Click to your Website from Google Search and Google Maps!

One of the main reasons we care about this is that when you click on a result in Local Pack or Local Finder, it takes you to the GMB listing. Once this change is fully rolled out, clicking on a result will take the user directly to your website (if you have your website verified in your GMB listing).

This is a HUGE change and will profoundly affect how users interact with Local search results going forward. It also shows that Google emphasises websites as the primary way users learn about and engage with businesses. We’ll keep an eye on this change and report back as we know more!
